In my case — for my first-ever interview — I was in Indiana to talk about ABIDING DARKNESS. Texan and former Miss America, Debra Maffett and her co-anchor Stefan Radelich were the perfect hosts.
From the beginning, I knew it was going to be an enjoyable interview. I was in the "green room" with another guest, waiting for the taping to start when the "regulars" walked in. Debra, whom I'd never seen in person, spied me as she came though the door and stopped in her tracks to shriek, "John Aubrey Anderson, I was up all night because of you!" I enjoyed her unrepentant enthusiasm. Stefan, too, was as gracious off-camera as on, and I had a great time.
